5 Days in Costa Rica

Day 1 — Arrive in Liberia, hop in a rental car, and drive southwest to Guanacaste. Check-in to the JW Marriott Guanacaste Resort and let the kids play in the enormous, infinity edge pool after a long day of travel. Watch the fiery sunset over the Pacific on the private beach.

Day 2 — Tour the lively city of Tamarindo and surf, shop, or take a boat ride through Las Baulas National Park Estuary. But if it’s monkeys you’re seeking, don’t waste time at the Estuary. Instead, eat dinner at Pangas at sunset and you’ll dine to a cacophony of howler monkeys in the trees above you.

Day 3 — Drive east to La Fortuna and stop at Mistico Arenal Hanging Bridges along the way for a kid-friendly, 2 mile rainforest hike that suspends you over the treetops on 16 hanging bridges. Check-in to The Springs Resort at Arenal and soak in the natural hot springs overlooking the Arenal Volcano.

Day 4 — Soar over the rainforest with Sky Adventures, arguably the best zip lining in Costa Rica. It was one of our most memorable family experiences — even our 4-yr-old loved gliding 650ft in the air!

Day 5 — Explore the Club Rio Adventure Center for river tubing on class I rapids on the Arenal River, horseback riding, hot springs, or observing sloths.
